Job Summary:
The clinical Supervisor will provide clinical, administrative and staff development support to staff and monitor the quality of service delivery in compliance with jurisdictional regulations for Birth Parent and Foster Care programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision to program staff
• Assist in hiring and training of program staff
• Knowledge of procedures, resources, guidelines related to program services
• Responsible for development and performance evaluation of program staff
• Coordinate the care assignments
• Represent the Program Director in meetings, events and in various functions as determined and assigned
• Assist in implementing quality assurance in the program
• Assist PD with the program development and with new initiatives
• Maintain case services statistics and assist with proposal development
• Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• MSW degree with clinical licensures in both MD and DC (LCSW/LICSW)
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience
• Case management experience
• Experience and knowledge in the Foster Care service delivery system or relevant field of practice
COMPETENCIES:
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to promote professional growth for program staff
• Knowledge of community resources and services systems
• General knowledge of fiscal management
• Ability to operate and manage a culturally diverse workplace

LSSNCA offers a variety of internship programs in all of our programs including Human Resources, Development, Foster Care and Refugee and Immigration Services.
Application Process
All positions are temporary and open for three sessions throughout the year (Winter/Spring; Summer; Fall). Interns must work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Most of the interships are unpaid, however, the posting will specify either way. The internship start and end dates are flexible according to your academic calendar, and the scheduled assignments within the various programs. A printable detail list of the available internships can be found in the "Downloads" section under the name of the Program sponsoring the internship.To be considered as a applicant a writing sample is required.

Job duties:
Overall job duties include assisting the Director of Development with reaching out to current and potential donors who believe in LSS/NCA’s mission to walk with those in need and mobilize community partners to provide services that offer hope and rebuild lives. Our current programs focus on:
• Adoption and Foster Care
• Disaster Preparedness and Response
• Refugee and Immigrant Services, including resettlement, employment training/services, and language classes
• and Youth Haven Camps for children and teens living with HIV/AIDS.
Specific duties include:
• helping organize, market, and implement strategies to ensure the success of LSS/NCA’s fall fundraisers, including Help the Homeless campaign and Expressions of Abundance
• coordinating weekly acknowledgement and monthly pledge reminder process
• assisting in donor outreach and cultivation through mail, phone, and in-person visits
• serving as a LSS/NCA contact to local businesses, individuals, and congregations
• drafting letters, newsletter articles, media releases, and other documents
• updating LSS/NCA’s Facebook cause page
• other duties as needed
Minimum requirements: Passion for social justice. Knowledge of MS Office Suite. Strong writing skills. Team player. 15-20 hrs; evening and weekends may be required
Preferred requirements: Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising (or related) majors preferred, but anyone with a passion for social justice and strong writing skills is encouraged to apply.

• Developing handouts/materials regarding career advancement and educational opportunities
• Researching potential employers, job training programs and job possibilities for LSS clients
• Assisting clients with filling out job applications, resume development, job search techniques, basic computer training, job-related English language training and mock interviews
• Working with Montgomery Community College to Develop Job Club
• Taking clients for job interviews and employment orientations
• Assist Employment Manager with organization of client's files
• Teach clients how to use public transportation
• Assist with developing employment workshops, i.e. career advancement, education/training
• Assist with in-take and development of Resettlement and Job Search plans
• Assist with coordination and administration of Job coach mentoring program
Qualifications
• Must have experience working in a social services setting or a background in psychology or social work.
• Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills
• Sociable, outgoing
• Organized with attention to detail
• Able to work independently
• An interest in international and refugee issues

Housing and Donations Intern-Unpaid

Roles and Responsibilities
• Catalogue donation items and sort them in our storage unit
• Coordinate with members of the community who’d like to donate items
• Find new on-call volunteers, and coordinate with them fluidly. You are the liaison to connect on-call volunteers and the office staff
• Either pick up the donation yourself or requesting that an on-call volunteer does this if the person donating cannot
• Giving those who donate a slip for a tax write-off
• Consult the List of Goods to be Provided in preparing for a new arrival
• Purchasing all items not donated for a New Arrival
• Help with the actual set up of a home before a family arrival
• Organize Donation Drives through schools and community groups
• Conducting housing outreach/research
• Mediating between landlords and refugees/asylees
• Working closely with case managers to secure housing for newly arrived refugees
• Possibly helping set up apartments for newly arrived refugees
Qualifications
• Must speak, read, and write English fluently and at a university level
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Windows applications and have experience with Internet research and databases
• Must have excellent organizational, time-management, follow-up, interpersonal, and administrative skills
• Must have excellent telephone manner, research and writing skills, attention to detail
• Must be capable of working in a fast-paced, multicultural office environment, take initiative, and be able to handle multiple assignments at once and meet deadlines
• Commitment to the human rights and general welfare of asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants
DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED
• Strong candidates will have previous internship experience in non-governmental or inter-governmental organizations
• Strong candidates will be willing to drive a van pick up donated items from houses
