Lutheran Asset Mapping Project (LAMP) to Launch Soon
Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSS/NCA) was recently awarded a grant from the Community Foundation of the National Capital Region to create a resource that will bring together many of the Lutheran-based human service programs to create safety net programs. Large, non-profit organizations as well as local congregational ministries will be able to participate in this project, dubbed “LAMP”—Lutheran Asset Mapping Project.
Important partners in this project include: Community Family Life Services, Fellowship Square Foundation, Good Shepherd Housing, Lutheran Volunteer Corps, National Lutheran Home, NOVACO, Southeast Ministry, and Transitional Housing Corporation.
A software program is being developed in which information detailing safety net assets—such as emergency food, counseling services, housing, and employment services—will be gathered on a common internet website. Local food cupboards will be able to connect with one another and with Lutheran-based programs that serve additional needs as well. LSS/NCA is currently working to launch the project and creating a survey to gather data. Be on the look out! The survey will be coming soon. Later in the year, LSS/NCA will host a gathering of social ministry program leaders to kick-off the implementation of this tool. Stay tuned for more information!
